Sam’s Grill & Seafood Restaurant

Located off of Bush Street in San Francisco, California is Sam’s Grill & Seafood Restaurant. Their hours are from 11 am until 9 pm on Mondays through Fridays. Sam’s Grill can be dated back to 1867 when an Irish fisherman named Michael Boran Moraghan began to sell oysters on the half shell along California Street. By the time that the 1890s rolled around, Moraghan was known as “The Oyster King” and had a successful business. The business in question was called Burlingame’s Oyster Company, but in 1922 it was taken over by Samuel Zenovich and from then on it was referred as “Sam’s.” The business was once again under new ownership by Frank Seput in 1936. He decided to keep the name “Sam’s” but also to make it more formal, and changed it to “Sam’s Grill & Seafood Restaurant” and has been successful for over 80 years.

Sam’s Grill & Seafood Restaurant creates gourmet seafood dishes while only using the freshest ingredients. Their specials are fire-grilled Sriracha prawns and pan seared Halibut. The prawns are served alongside steamed Jasmine rice, braised chard, and is drizzled with a Meyer lemon chardonnay dressing sauce. The pan-seared Halibut is served with Peruvian mashed potatoes, sweet corn & green pea succotash, and roasted red bell pepper butter. Sam’s Grill & Seafood Restaurant takes reservations and accepts walk-ins for parties of up to 24 people.
